of course I know Santa,I am his sponsor
Along long time ago I met this crack head named Cringle,he was in bad shape and needed detox & rehab real bad. We took him out in the country and read the Big Book with him, Worked a few steps, fired up the sleds, and we were able to sober him up enough so he could make the rounds and deliver all the presents, to all the little kiddy's, every Christmas eve we get together so I can present him with his sobriety coin. I went with him those first few years of sobriety. But he is doing better, and the elves call me if he starts messing up, Now if we could just get him off the cookies. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.....PEACE ON EARTH & GOOD WILL TOWARDS MAN....ponytailtim....the legend continues.....

New Day
I am still feeling run down. My eyes are still infected. But I was able to get my computer working again and was able to download my Google Chrome. And buy more stock on line at horribly discounted prices. I went and had blood drawn this morning to recheck my cholesterol, if its not better I am going immediately to McDonald's and gorging my self. Also I completed my application for Obama,So if I am appointed Ambassador to Libertoria than I'll be leaving soon, and we will probably be at war with libertoria soon.Evidently my offer to be the new Illinosis Senator was out bid.I was canidate 4561, I offered $20, LOL. I will post another picture of my eyes so you can help diagnose my problem, I an feeling alittle better today , guitar lesson tonight we are working on the song "JULIA" by the Beatles off the White Album. He is teaching me a new picking technique.Peace,Love, and Respect...Tim

Not Doing Well
First, I wake up on Sunday and my left eye is matted shut and I have a sharp burning pain. So , I went to work and saw one of the Doctors, and was diagnosed with conjunctivitis. I took some med and it started clearing up and than spread to the other eye, so I started using the med in the other eye. and I think they are starting to clear up. Also I have felt run down, stuffy nose, chapped lips. I saw the Doctor yesterday, who thought maybe I have a virus( thank God for 12 years of med school)Just maybe Doctor genius I should have a prescription for chicken noodle soup.Any way, I am a little grumpy.I have been kinda depressed about some personal problems I have been having. I'll be glad to be going back to work on Friday.I also noticed no one ever comments on my blog. so I can pretty much say what ever I want because nobody is following my blog. I'll post a picture of my eye. I am going to have some chicken noodle soup and listen to Jeff's radio show. Peace and Love Tim

Poem " IF" by Kipling
IF
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to,broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them:
"Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds'worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more-you'll be a man, my Son!

PLEASE STOP SMOKING!
Today is November 20,2008. It is "The Great American Smoke Out Day". Please stop smoking. It is deadly. I think everyone that smokes would agree(deep down where honesty lives) that smoking is not good for you. Evidently the scientist have proven this beyond a reasonable doubt. So, the next question is how do I quit? I used hypnosis. It has been 6 years since I smoked. I have a family member that used the new medication Chantax to quit and has been off cigarettes for about a year.If you have thought about quitting or are thinking about quitting, keep trying. It is possible to quit. I f you don't succeed the first time keep trying it might take several attempts at quitting before it works. There are a lot of different methods to use to quit. It doesn't really matter which one you use as long as it works. So, remember I believe in you. Yes it is possible to quit. and I need you all around to read my blog for a long time........Peace,Love,and Respect....ponytailtim

Yes We Can ! President-Elect Barack Obama
History was made last night. America wins. Today, I support President Elect Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden, to improve our country. I also support Jay Nixon to improve, The Great State of Missouri. I have had so much fun being involved in my community, and looking forward to how I can be of service to my country and my state. Democracy at its best.80 % voter turn out, people waiting up to 3 hours(in an orderly civil fashion) to exercise their liberty. The first African American president is an amazing achievement. I grew up with civil rights unrest, in my country and have watched it grow to achieve Dr Kings dream, were a man is judged by the "content of his character, rather than the color of his skin" to fulfill our country's creed "that all men are created equal".God Bless America.......in humble service to my country Tim Harper

Safe Arrival In BOSTON
We arrived in Boston yesterday afternoon. St Louis to Detroit(Motown), then Detroit to Manchester New Hampshire, than we rented a car and drove down to Boston. My first order of business was to have some New England Clam Chowder. I have officially had all the calories allotted to me for the entire week, So it's back to celery sticks and rabbit food. This morning Thursday 10/09/08, we are driving up to, East Dorset Vermont, to The Wilson Inn. East Dorset VT. is the birthplace of Bill W. the founder of AA and Lois Wilson the founder of alanon. Their grave sites are there and we are staying at the original home of Bill Wilson, which has been restored to a bed and breakfast. The peak color chart for leaves, list today, as the peak day of the year in East Dorset VT, for the brilliance of the color of leaves on trees. It is truly paradise on earth. I am going to take pictures and try to describe what the leaves looked like and the feel of the Great Northeast. Fall in Vermont really is indescribable. I'll try to keep blogging and keep everyone informed of my adventure.........Peace;Love, and Respect.....Tim

Debate Winner Sarah Palin
Wow! Sarah Palin knocked one out of the ballpark, last night. She is my new BFF. The Rally was a complete success. I was Team Captain on the Palin staff. I checked people at the door when they arrived. I was called to handle and smooth out a couple of wrinkles. I was also pumping the crowd up.
I saw Todd ( the First Dude of Alaska) I also saw Willow,Pieper, and Trig Palin. Also Sarah Palin's Parents were there. It was so much fun. Governor Palin gave a powerful speech at the rally. I was exhausted by the end of the night.
I am sitting at home today answering and sending e-mails, calling and talking to people on the phone. President Bush is in town for a fund raiser at Uncle Bucky Bush's house, for Gubernatorial Candidate Kenny Hulshof. I am to tired to go though. I got home late last night.
So, I am going to chill around the house today. I hope everyone is doing good. I am doing OK. I will be in Boston from 10/8-15/08. Keep in touch with me through e-mail or phone or comment on blog. or I'll just see ya around.....Peace,Love, and Respect.........Captain Tim Harper Warren County Missouri Delegate

Barbeque at the US Senator's House
I went to a barbecue at US Senator Kit Bond's house today. It was so much fun. We talked about a number of issues, including the mortgage bailout and the North Korean situation. I also saw the Governor Candidates wife Renee' Hulshof. She is an eloquent speaker. She came up to me and asked where do I know you from? I reminded her we were at a dinner together 2 weeks ago in Warrenton MO. I am gearing up for the election in November and I am volunteering at the Vice Presidential Debate next Thursday. If you need tickets to the " Watch Party" at St Louis University's new basketball arena, let me know. Sarah Palen is going there after the debate to celebrate. Singing andPlaying Guitar
Hi, How's everyone? I spent the day writing songs & playing the guitar. I played last Saturday Night at RSC. I played "Ruby Tuesday" by the Rolling Stones. It was so much fun. I met some cool people, and had the time of my life.
So, since then I have been motivated. 1. To write more songs and develop the ones I've already written. 2. To have more fun. 3. Put myself out here, and jam more.
Today was my guitar lesson. and although I didn't get to do everything I wanted to do today, I did get alot accomplished. I dreamed and that's a heck of alot more than most people get to do.
Also I saw a friend who use to be volunteer staff with me years ago at the youth program, it was so cool! I have been exploring putting together an educational seminar, dealing with substance abuse, hope and recovery.
I hope everyone is OK. I have alot of stuff coming up in the near future ( like a trip to Boston 10/08-15/2008), my schedule is busy. I will make time for my friends though. Keep in touch. Take time to dream of good times. Stay hopeful. A Shout out to my newest friend, Charlie. Stay cool little man! .................Peace,Love and Respect........Tim H.

Never Forget
I haven't forgotten. I am still pissed off. On September 11, 2001 my older brother PJ was on the 46th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He was able to escape with his life. And he also was able to help a handicapped lady escape the South Tower, also almost 3000 Americans died that day.
I have and will continue to support our troops. You can run terrorists, but we will and we are, hunting these cowards down and bringing them to justice. We will not forget. When the terrorist brought the war to American soil, at first I was shocked, than I was relieved that my brother wasn't murdered, now I am just pissed off.
It seemed when I was growing up it was my job to kick any one's ass that messed with my brothers. Now I am supporting any candidate and piece of legistration that will protect our country, and bring these cowards to justice.
Also on TV today they showed TV footage from 9/11/01 and showed a**holes from other punk country's that danced in the street and just had a good laugh at Americans being killed. Well, we haven't forgot you guys either (just ask uday and quday and saddam hussain). We are coming for you osama bin laden. We won't forget...........Angry Rant from Tim

August 31,2008 History in the making
Wow, What a day.First, let me say, yesterday, I turned 50 years old and by 4pm I felt ever bit of 50.
I spent the day on "The McCain 08 staff" At the largest John McCain campaign event,in the USA. At O'Fallon Missouri, We had 23,000 people.
I was in charge of the VIP entrance. Luckily 37 years attending rock concerts prepared me for the task. I was out in 95 degree heat since 9am. At one point I had a megaphone and was welcoming people.
At 4 pm I went down. The heat got me. First my left calf started cramping and I tried to walk it off. Then my abdomen started cramping and I tried drinking more water. I went over to the shade to sit down, when it hit me. I fell on my side and I heard people yelling for help.
A Secret Service Agent came over and spoke into his cuff and called for EMS. A fire Fighter from Robertson Fire District got me to the cooling area poured water on me and started large fans with cool mist. Within 15 minutes. I was feeling better. I refused transport to the hospital. I drank some more water. I was on my feet again ( you can't keep a good man down ).
So I worked my way to the stage just as the event started. I sat with the VIP's. I was able to talk and shake hands with the candidates and their family's, John and Cindy McCain, Cindy had a hot pink short arm cast on her right wrist.I met two of their daughters,Meghan and Bridget McCain. The other McCain children that weren't there are Doug, Andy, Sidney, Jack (who just graduated from the Naval Academy), Jimmy ( who's a Marine that served a tour of duty in Iraq). I met Sarah Palin and her husband Todd and two of her daughters Willow 14 and Pieper 7 and little Pieper Palin was so cute. I asked her for her autograph. She signed a poster and said don't sell it on EBay. The other Palin children are Track 19 ( who leaves for a tour of duty in Iraq with the US Army Infantry on September 11,2008 ), Bristol and her fiance' Levi Johnson (cool name) and the baby Trig 4 months old ( his name means Truth and Strength). Also I met Mit Romney and Mike and Janet Huckabee. Mike Huckabee and I talked about my heat stroke and how it's hotter in Arkansas. I won't be going to Arkansas any time soon. John McCain wished me a happy birthday and stated I am just a youngster.
I had some friends attend and I got them in VIP. Megan and Bruce Quinlin, I got pictures of them with all the candidates and politicians. I also gave them the poster with every one's autographs, two of John McCain's daughters, 2 of Sarah Palin's daughters, John & Cindy, Sarah & Todd, Mike & Janet, Mit Romney, and Missouri Senator Kit Bond. I also got them hats and buttons and t-shirts. We all had so much fun.
I then went home and had a barbecue with Brenda , and David and his beautiful girlfriend Kari came out to celebrate. I talked to several people on the phone wishing me happy birthday. I checked my e-mails and there were a bunch of well wishers on there.
Well it's "all icing on the cake now". I survived a half century. I am happy joyous and free. I have the best family, I have relationships with my extended family, I have many friends, ( in high and low places), I am involved in my community. I am an elected public official ( Missouri Republican Delegate), I have the greatest wife, and I have good health ( although I push myself too hard some times).
Thank you all for my birthday wishes. Thank you to all my friends that read my blog, Please leave more comments. Keep in touch.........

Much is expected
I saw and listen to Ted Kennedy speak at the Democratic National Convention in Denver tonight 08/25/08. I grew up admiring and looking up to the Kennedy family's public service, and all they have given over the years to public service. I lived just outside of Dallas the day JFK was assassinated. I was at a Dodger baseball game across from the ambassador hotel the night RFK was assassinated.
The Father was an ambassador to England and the oldest brother died during WWII when his plane was shot down.I met John Kennedy JR in NYC when I was a teenager. The Kennedy Family has seen its share of tragedy, yet they keep giving, living the creed of that old Fitzgerald gal Rose, who said " to those that much is given, much is expected"
This is a primary principle of my gratitude. I am so grateful for so much, that I,believe it is expected of me to live up to the American creed of " paying it forward" or " giving it away in order to keep it". My parents were good people that raised me with certain values. Like if I am on a bus or train that I give up my seat for an elder or needier person. My mother would roll over in her grave if she ever heard of me not living theses principles and values.
I was born in Brooklyn NY. I have never wanted for anything in my life, all has been provided, some times when I didn't deserve it and some times I worked very hard for what I have, or others worked very hard to help me. I have been blessed with good health, so I help the sick. My mother had MS and was sick as I was growing up as a teenager.and she would be appalled if I didn't treat the sick with respect and did all I could to help them. I have 3 sons I am very proud of. I have the family I always dreamed of. I have the most beautiful wife in the world. I have relationships with my extended family.
I see the next generation of young adults in my family, living these principles and values. The most joy I have in life is helping others. I have experienced pain and suffering in my life and people reached out and helped me. To those that much is given much is expected.........
Peace and Love .......Tim H.

A Beautiful Day
What a beautiful day it is. 8/09/08 Saturday. Today is Ms. S.Green's Birthday. She is an artist. We have known her and her family for many years and have watched Shawny grow into a beautiful young lady and a very talented artist. We consider her, and her younger sister, like, our God children. Happy Birthday Ms. S.Green. The picture is of Ms. Green and Christopher.
Also, the weather is particularly nice today, low humidity and around 85 . I have feed all my birds seed, and laid out corn for my deer, squirrels, raccoons, and turkeys, and red sugar water for the Hummingbirds. I am currently looking out my computer room window at a family of deer that come to visit every few days, 3 young fawn and a mother doe. Also there are some blue jays eating the bird seed. I am truly blessed.
My oldest son Eric left today for Boston and school at Tufts University, starting a new faze in his life. My youngest son, Christopher got a job in Boston at Querdovas Mexican Restaurant. ( this is his first job, except for his gigs playing guitar and singing). So, good luck and have fun Chris and Eric.
My wife and I are now official empty nester's. Although it's been quite a ride, I can only feel a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. My Higher Power has watched over my family. I am grateful I was there to be apart of it. Thank you God. Everyone have a nice week and I'll blog again soon.

Helpful Hints - Clints list
I recently read Clint stonebraker's blog " The Fearless and Joyful Life" @
http://thefearlessandjoyfullife.com/ I liked what he wrote. I thought I would pass it along, while taking no credit. He's always cool and helpful.
"If There’s Trouble, You Can Resolve It " July 30, 2008
Most relationships that go sour are usually sabotaged by poor communication. Whether it is due to someone’s inability (or unwillingness) to be openly expressive or a misinterpretation of emotions, with better tools we can not only salvage certain relationships but enhance all of them.
In my book, Relationships for the Intimately Challenged I provide an overview of how people’s faulty belief systems and scripting lead to the repetition of useless and negative habits. I also point out the value of having a personal definition of success and happiness based on your individual experiences and beliefs rather than on scripts or other limiting codes of behavior.
In the series of workshops that I am facilitating right now, I provide some insight into ten techniques that I believe can help resolve most conflicts that come up in any relationship.
· 1 Pause before speaking
· 2 Listen to the other person…….no, seriously listen to the other person
· 3 Avoid accusatory statements based on assumptions
· 4 Avoid ”should” statements
· 5 Discuss rules/guidelines rather than impose rules/guidelines
· 6 Communicate concerns rather than attempt to arbitrarily control behavior
· 7 Understand the other person’s perspective (kind of an extension of #2)
· 8 Be willing to walk away to allow emotions to calm
· 9 NEVER speak out of anger
· 10 Own your behavior first
If you are experiencing conflict in any of your relationships, try one or more of these techniques. If you are willing to take action and make the necessary changes in your life you can find the joy you seek in any significant relationship. Never limit yourself with beliefs that no longer serve you.

Sometimes, something just clicks, and even though I known these helpful hints, having learned them growing up as a kid. It's nice to have someone take the trouble to remind you of them and point you in the right direction on how to apply them in your daily life, for more joy and less fear in life....
In gratitude and service, I am trying to keep it simple....

Thresher Fair
Well, I think I am an official Country Boy,now. This past weekend I went to a fiddle & banjo contest at the annual Thresher Fair. I didn't know what a thresher was,( it's a machine that separates the wheat and straw). The fair was located in Rosebud Missouri ( which if you go to nowhere and make a left and drive for about 50 miles you'll pass it, I mean pass it, turn around and this time don't blink).
The fiddle and banjo contest started at 5 pm, it was so hot , heat index over 100, the musicians had a hard time keeping there instruments tuned because of the heat, there was a 95 year old man playing fiddle ( for you city folk that's a violin). Afterwards they had the hay bale throwing contest, which I thought they were really heavy, but I tried it, and they weren't that heavy. I'll post a picture of me throwing a bale of hay ( I am getting to be such a country boy).
After that, the dance started, my wife's family were there, and there was a big dance, and Brenda's sister insisted on teaching me the two step. I really enjoyed myself,we stayed till midnight dancing, eating corn on the cob & barbecue and eating homemade ice cream. We had so much fun. My right hip was sore the next day from dancing.
Sunday, I went to church in the morning, and went to my groups "Area Service Monthly Meeting" ( and got to hear, the latest area politics, and saw a lot of friends).
I hope everyone is well out there , keep in touch, enjoy the dog days of summer, get out and do something , swimming, barbecue, hang with friends, dance, eat corn on the cob, homemade ice cream...........Peace,Love and Respect........Tim H.

Boston and Jan's Birthday
Well, the trip to Boston is now history. I helped drive the moving truck. Two of my sons are going to college there. Eric at Tufts, his girl Jenni at Northeastern, and Chris is checking out colleges this summer in Boston.
We also were there for the big 50 th birthday party, for my cousin Janet. There were family there from all over the country. I can't remember the last time I laughed and had so much fun, my family is cool. I had the opportunity to connect with family members I hadn't seen in years. That was Saturday. Sunday we went back to Janet's house and hung out for the day. Check out the video on YouTube" Boston and Jan's Birthday " my profile "bwaytim"
Sunday, late afternoon/evening I took the " T " to the North Station and went and saw the Old North Church. Then I walked all through the north side, down along the harbor, and than up through the market place, (saw cheers), over to the Old Corner Book Store, all along the Freedom Trail. Then I took the " T " back to the South Street stop on the B train, on the green line, right in front of my son's new apartment.
Monday,I took all my dirty laundry to the post office and mailed them back to St Louis , because I anticipated trouble at the airport. My son Eric booked the flight online and when they asked for any dietary needs, Eric tells them Hindu non-vegetarian. So here I am flying out of Logan airport(were the 911 terrorists flew out of), I am on a one way ticket. no luggage(I mailed my luggage home), and I have a long pony-tail. I anticipated at the very least a strip search, if not a down right body cavity search, but it turned out pretty uneventful.
We took the train from my sons apartment to the airport, I just love the mass transit system. So, I am home safely. I am dealing with things here. I have my guitar lesson tonight and I go back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone is fine and has a safe & fun 4 th of July.

Lookin around, I Have A Choice
After reading Clint's latest blog, I thought, I'd better get blogging. I have a choice. I can choice to look at the cup as being "half empty or half full". I, like some others, have some negative stuff in my life ( if I choice to give it power by dwelling on it.) So, today's choice is to dwell on the good stuff.
Let me start by giving a run down on what I've been up to since I attended the workshop on Wednesday June 11, 2008, that next day Thursday, I worked an extra shift,(through an employment agency that I have work with since 1981) they placed me at a job I've worked at a lot and I enjoy. So,I am grateful my profession affords me the ability, to make an extra few bucks, once in a while.
Later, I had my guitar lesson and it went smooth, I am learning so much and having a lot of fun ( my guitar teacher is cool ).Friday the 13,June 2008, I had a nice day, I saw my chiropractor and than went and met with my sponsor ( both of them straighten me out ).
Saturday the 14 th I had my big debut and played guitar and sang at the Riverfront Musical Cultural Society. It was incredibly awesome. I played two songs. One, I had written. So, I told the story and history behind the song. I had Chris (The Crusher) on lead guitar, Joey (Bells) on the bass, and Joey (JC) on the djembe and Yes yours truly on rhythm guitar (My Hummingbird ). The second song was " The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot (1971).It was a truly exhilarating experience. Sunday was Fathers day, I got up and went to church with Christopher in the morning. I had a good day and saw Eric, and David called. I have the best kids.
This last week I worked Monday,Wednesday and Friday and have been trying to use the stuff I've learned in the workshop and connect a little better with my co-workers and even though it was busy the days seemed to go smoother.
Tuesday I had off work, and me and my lovely bride Brenda went to the Missouri Botanical Gardens and spent the day there and I took over 100 photos, than afterwards we went out to a Italian restraunt called " La Gra" ,in Dogtown , which means Love in Gaelic. We had such a nice day, and I am looking forward to the next time we go out. Thursday I had another guitar lesson and was taught "Walk The Line " by Johnny Cash.
Friday there was a convention downtown at the Millennium Hotel and I arrived just in time to hear a wonderful speaker with a good message.
Saturday, I went to a real life Country Party, for a good friend that just graduated with a baccalaureate degree in chemistry and is going to Ohio State University for Graduate studies. His name is Sean Whittemore, and he worked with Clint for awhile before college. His totally "Redneck" ( I mean that in an endearing way) Dad through the party. They roasted a pig, had some of the best food ever ( if you've ever been to a country event than you know what I am talking about), there was like 100 people there from all walks of life( country life ), They shot skeet with shotguns and fished and road 4 wheelers and shot off fireworks ( and Yes, the box did turn over and all hell broke loose), than they had a bon fire that you could easily see from outer space, and than we broke out the guitars and djembe drums and started jamming ,it was so cool. I really enjoyed my self, (did I mention the food was really good).
So today,I got up early 0830 am and went to church at 1000 am, it was nice, the message was something about having the courage to believe in God during the tough times. Than this afternoon some friends had a grand opening for a new Montessori school they are opening. I saw some old friends and saw some younger people's dreams coming true. Than this evening me and Chris weed-eated the yard, and than I went and took a Jacuzzi.
I just got off the phone with a sponcee I have in prison and I also talked with my sponsor. I was going to tell you about all my problems and I have seemed to have misplaced them so, I'll have to get back to ya on that.

THE WORKSHOP IS AWESOME !
After reading the new book out entitled "Relationships For The Intimately Challenged" about connecting with family, friends and co-workers to create a more joyful life authored by Clint Stonebraker available through Meek publishing at http://www.meekpublishing.com/ ,I noticed a website at the end of the book http://www.clintstonebraker.com/ for more info. So, I checked out the site and noticed the author was coming to St Louis to conduct a workshop on Relationships for the intimately challenged. Now, having already read the book (and thoroughly enjoying it) I concluded that I was probably intimately challenged (I think part of being challenged is, you don't necessarily recognize it, yourself) So, I thought "what the hell, I think I'll go".
So, after working 12 hours at my job, I arrived at the Hilton Garden Center in Chesterfield Missouri just outside St Louis Mo at 7:30 pm Wednesday June 11,2008. I have known Clint for 10 years having met him when he was approximately 29 years old, now he is 39 years old. The gentleman I met on Wednesday night was an accumulation of 20 years of experience as a Counselor for families in crisis and the growth one obtains with 39 years of life's lessons. I thought to myself this is going to be intense and real. The business Center at the Hilton Gardens was a wonderful place for a workshop being both professional and yet intimate. With people socializing before the start of the workshop Clint was accessible walking around welcoming people. I went to find a seat in the back row( I didn't want to be made an example of as this is what a challenged person looks like) and besides the back row has always been mine. It's a place I can scan the whole room and not miss a thing. It started with Clint being introduced by Michael Weiland CASAC ."Mike" is known as the best interventionist in the country and also a family counselor for many years and the director of the Crossroads Program. The introduction was very intimate ( I will be using the term intimate alot from now on since my definition of intimacy has expanded).
With the introduction complete, Clint thanked Mike and took off his suit jacket and loosened his tie and got to work. Clint was very easy going and engaged with the participants only a few feet away, answering questions and giving all he had. One of the first things he did was disarm me by recognising how his friend had sat in the back row. The workshop lasted just over 3 hours. Afterwards, Clint stayed around answering questions and signing books.
It's funny you read a book. OK, you think, I read the words. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but, OK I understand what the author is trying to say or the message that's trying to be conveyed. Well, I had never been to a workshop, conducted by the author, of a book I had just read. I am not capable of expressing all I got from this workshop. I am still absorbing and processing all the information I was given at the workshop. Also, I only have an Associates Degree and I had to take bone head English 3 times just to qualify to take English Composition. Evidently I write like I talk.I knew what I was saying but, without proper English grammar and training my message would not necessarily be expressed or could be interpreted differently than what I was trying to say. So, with that in mind, I am not going to give you a detailed word for word what was delivered at the workshop, you will just have to find out where one is going to be next and attend yourself because a big part of the workshop, is the experience of being there in the moment, experiencing it for yourself. What I got out of the workshop, another person might get something totally different, relating to there own unique situation. But what I will do is throw some words out there that are connected to some of the messages I am processing. Scripting, Fear vs Happiness, Connecting with people on an equal plane, Flexibility, Choice, Inspiration and Courage, Passion and Joy, Deeply connected intimate relationships, Define success?
After the workshop, I went up to the author and asked a couple of questions (I didn't want to ask during the workshop because I sit in the back row). I asked " Whats the drawback of not connecting on a deep intimate level with people and his answer was "being alone". So, I asked OK so lets say I have the inspiration and the courage to walk through my fear and make the choice to connect with people on a deep intimate level, what's the worst thing that could happen to me,"the worst case scenario" he answered " you could be hurt".
If you have the opportunity to read the new book Relationships For The Intimately Challenged about connecting with family, friends and co-workers to create a more joyful life, authored by Clint Stonebraker published by Meek Publishing at http://www.meekpublishing.com/ GET THE BOOK AND READ IT! If you have the opportunity to hear Clint Stonebraker speak BE THERE! It will be worth it. If you have the opportunity to attend one his workshops, it will literally change your life and how you look at things.
It has been 2 days since the workshop and this is the first time I have been able to sit and collect my thoughts. I have made a commitment to reread the book with this new perspective and am now on page one.I will keep you posted on my progress.....Peace,Love and Respect......Ponytail Tim

Along Spiritual Lines
The way I live my life, is by what's called,"Living a 12 Step Spiritual Program". For me, this means growing along spiritual lines, spiritual progress,( not perfection). So right up front let me say I am not a guru or Jesus freak(although I am cool with Jesus), or one of these people that tries to shove religion down your throat. I am a person that got into a situation where the only way out was by following the few other people that had made it out. Nothing else seemed to work except working a 12 step spiritual program, like NA, AA,ACOA, Alanon. I initialy got my teachings from the "Crossroads" program, where I was a member for 6 years and am now an alumni and friend of the program. While in Crossroads I was introduced to the other programs. The bases of my teaching is love, love for myself, love for God, and love for others. I believe every act of kindness gets me closer to paradise. I have seen the face of God in the face of a suffering man that starts to get better and eventually smiles. I don't pretend to understand everything thats going on, on this spiritual journey but I do believe that it's the path I need to be on. I am currently working Step one with my sponsor. I have continually worked the 12 steps for the last 10 years and have now gotten around to step one again. It's so cool because it offers freedom. The Step reads " We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable." Some of the spiritual principles that are gained are honesty, open-mindedness, willingness, acceptance, hope, surrender and freedom, plus many more. I hope this has helped some people to get to know me a little better. Also, I will be attending a workshop next week taught by Clint Stonebraker, the author of the book, I just read, entitled "Relationships for the Intimately challenged" published by Meek publishing. I will try to keep the blog thing going and blog more often.

Enjoying reading Clint's new book
I am enjoying reading Clint Stonebraker's new book "Relationships For The Intimately Challenged" published by Meek Publishing, about connecting with family, friends and co-workers to create a more joyful life. I am on page 147 of 154 pages. I am at that point in a good book where you read real slowly to savor every word because you just don't want it to end. I am not yet ready to give a full review of the book, but lets just say I am really enjoying it. It explores passion and joy and talks about love, things we all already know but enjoy the help of someone reminding us. There has been more than once while reading the book I said "duh" I know that, but Clint points the direction to apply these helpful connections for a more joyful life. More to come latter . I am new to blogging,so be patient with me. Have a nice day....Peace and Love Tim H
