Jack Jackson, a Republican candidate for Missouri State Senate in the
26th district today issued a morals and ethics conduct pledge. Jackson’s pledge
is a promise to citizens that he will hold himself to the highest possible
levels of moral and ethical integrity. The former state Representative from
Wildwood contends that lawmakers must make this kind of commitment so they can
fully concentrate on the economy and jobs instead of defending behavior.
“At a time when our elected officials need to focus on reviving our economy and
helping get people back to work, the last thing we need is another politician
brought down by moral and ethical failure. If we can’t trust our leaders to be
decent and honorable people then we can’t rely on them to work as hard as
possible to help bring back jobs and prosperity. I believe there is a direct
relationship between poor behavior of our leaders and the ability to create
conditions that will nurture financial stability and growth for our
communities."
Jackson says, "That is why, as I seek the office of State Senator, I make this
pledge; I will continue to live my life with high ethical and moral standards. I
dedicate myself to moral and ethical service, just as I have as a Marine, just
as I have in my business life and as just as I have as a state lawmaker. It is
my oath never to allow tainted ethics or scandalous morals distract me from my
sworn mission to serve only the interest on those who would honor me with their
trust and votes.”
